Leonard and Shawn’s business had been approved for the government’s PPP forgivable loan. They were days away from receiving close to $1 million when they both experienced a nagging feeling that something was wrong.
Maybe God didn’t want them to take this money. As Leonard, Shawn and I discussed their situation, I learned that their business was flourishing despite the pandemic.
The three of us concluded that they should not accept the money, so that funds were available for other more needy businesses.
Isaiah 55:9 says, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
A conventional businessperson would think it crazy to refuse a million dollars that could be forgiven, but God’s ways are unconventional.
