The Ethics and Compliance Initiative surveyed employees in 13 nations to gauge the ethical climate internationally. Japan had the lowest incidences of observed ethical misconduct with only 15%, while Brazil, India, and Russia were the worst, all experiencing over 40%.
In the United States, 30% of people surveyed claimed they had witnessed ethical misconduct in their workplace in the last year.
The survey also discovered that when misconduct abounds, more people feel pressured to participate in unethical behavior.
