In Bremerton, Washington, Coach Kennedy led prayers in the locker room before football games. He also prayed after games at the 50-yard line.
Kennedy’s school district demanded that he stop all prayer. The coach complied with their demands with one exception. Kennedy continued to pray privately at midfield, resulting in his termination.
The Supreme Court recently ruled for Coach Kennedy, proclaiming that “respect for religious expressions is indispensable to life in a free and diverse Republic.”
In Acts 4, Peter and John were also commanded to comply with the government. They responded, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Fortunately, faith at work is still legal!
