As a child I took for granted all that my mother did to provide for our needs. My mother worked a full-time job with the Internal Revenue Service, then came home to manage a household with five children!
She would feed us, clothe us, care for the house, take us to church, and still rise early to go to work each day. Yet, I don’t remember much grumbling from her.
The author of Proverbs 31 wrote, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done.”
As a parent, I now better appreciate my mother’s amazing effort and perseverance. This weekend is a great time to honor your mother. Thanks, Mom, for all you’ve done!
