A quality that is seldom heard about and seems lacking in our culture today is reverence. Instead of revering God, His name is used in vain constantly throughout America’s workplaces.

The Israelites had such reverence for God that when they built the temple under King Solomon’s leadership, no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.

Colossians 3:22 gives us an idea on how we might revere God with our work. Paul wrote, “Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.”

If you desire to revere God today, obey your bosses and those in authority.
