Mark owned a chain of dry-cleaning stores. One day Mark discovered a valued employee had been stealing money from his business.

His initial reaction was anger and a desire to fire her. But Mark decided to gain understanding first.

Mark learned that this employee’s husband was an abusive drug addict, forcing her to steal money to support his drug habit. Mark’s employee repented and begged Mark’s forgiveness.

Mark agreed to consider retaining her provided she and her husband meet with him. That night Mark forgave his employee and introduced her husband to Jesus and to rehab.

In Matthew 6:15, Jesus said, “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

You don’t have to forget someone’s sins, but to God forgiveness is mandatory.
