On August 11th, the day my mother passed, the funeral home sent someone to her memory care facility to take my mother’s body away. As I followed my mother’s body out, a parade of nurses and caregivers formed.

The entire crew who had devotedly cared for my mother stood quietly as her body was slid into a van. Some quietly prayed, others somberly watched, but all were there to say goodbye and pay their respects to my mother.

1 Peter 2:17 teaches, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”

Maggie’s Place treated my mother and her passing with great respect and dignity. It takes hard work and selectively finding great people to build a culture of respect like that in any workplace.
