Many servant leaders have leveraged compassion for others to create a new product or business idea. A great example is Joe Hill. Joe had two young sons with autism who had trouble communicating.
Joe’s compassion for his sons’ plight led him to create an IPad application (app) called “Aeir Talk.” The app uses pictures, combined with the parent’s voice, to help autistic children better communicate. Mr. Hill’s creation became a growing business as people worldwide bought this app.
Jesus modeled for us a servant leader’s compassion in Matthew 14:14 where we read, “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
Keep your eyes open for those opportunities in your workplace to serve others with compassion. Imagine their gratitude and joy.
