In the book of Revelation, Jesus gave performance reviews to seven churches. As I studied the seven letters, I believe I’ve discovered a roadmap for performance reviews.
After listing the churches’ Strengths, Jesus next addressed their Areas for Improvement. He directly addressed their flaws beginning with the phrase, “But I have this against you.”
This section was very direct, brief, but clear on what each individual church was doing that disappointed Jesus.
In Revelation 2:20, Jesus said to the church in Thyatira, “But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality…”
In your performance reviews, it’s necessary that your team member knows clearly what specific areas need to be improved.
