When I graduated from college, I started working for a CPA firm just as tax season began. Working seven days a week for weeks at a time was exhausting and could surface short tempers and infighting.
In the middle of March, the firm decided we needed an evening to relax. They hosted a fun evening of card games and refreshments.
Although it wasn’t much, it gave the staff a needed break. It also refreshed us enough to know that the end of tax season was drawing near. That evening provided hope that I could survive until April 15th.
Proverbs 11:25 teaches, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
As an employer, be mindful of when your team needs to be refreshed. It will usually pay dividends.
