The first time Jesus sent the disciples out, he sent them with what they probably felt was poor preparation and provisioning. “These were his instructions: ‘Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.’” (Mark 6:8)
But Jesus knew they were ready. They came back full of stories of the miraculous work they had done. (Mark 6:30)
