So, it was unsettling when I moved to a new, less visible role at a new employer. But the change was a valuable reminder that work, while important, is not our identity.
God told Isaiah, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)
Recognizing our identity as God’s children helps us to trust God’s broader plan and see the new things he is doing for us and in us.
