Nehemiah, Ezra, and the people of Israel, all experienced God’s miraculous involvement in rebuilding the walls around Jerusalem. Then Ezra shared God’s Word with the Israelites, resulting in a time of repentance and revival.
Rather than let this spiritual peak subside, Ezra pulled all the key leaders together to study God’s commands and how to apply them to their community.
Nehemiah 8:13 says, “On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the teacher to give attention to the words of the Law.”
The result was a week-long festival and public commitments to obeying God as a community. Jerusalem was transformed.
When you connect leaders with God’s Word you may also experience a transformed community.
