Kathy had been negotiating with a contractor named Luther on a project for our home. We were supposed to sign a contract the following morning, but I needed to change the time.
Although it was 11:30 at night, Kathy texted Luther to modify our appointment.
Luther and I had not met, so the next morning Luther astutely realized he needed to win me over.
At one point he said to Kathy, “You texted me at 11:30 last night. I responded in one minute and adjusted my schedule. That’s the way I differentiate myself from my competitors.”
Proverbs 20:15 says, “There is gold and a multitude of jewels, but knowledgeable lips are a rare treasure.”
Luther regularly emphasized his competitive advantage by highlighting his extraordinary service with words and his actions.
