A recent article from the US Chamber of Commerce suggests, “Many businesses are asking for customers to help mitigate the cost of keeping their staff (and patrons) safe. Sometimes it’s in the form of a clearly stated COVID-19 surcharge, often between 3% and 5%, to cover the cost of things like masks and gloves.”

No doubt the costs to reopen can take a toll on the business’ profitability. Passing the increased business costs to the customer is one way to keep the doors open.

Luke 12:35 says, “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning”

Customers want businesses to remain open and are grateful for the extra safety precautions. It’s sometimes more prudent to pass along the cost increase than allow the added costs to close your business.
