Working with thousands of business leaders, I love how each person has their own unique way of expressing their faith. Some are very direct through their company mission statement or their marketing approaches. Only 5% of the general population struggle with the diagnoses.  Dr. Johan Wiklund researched ADHD’s impact on entrepreneurs. He discovered that ADHD comes with three basic traits; hyperactivity, inattentiveness, and impulsivity.  He found that these traits can be harnessed into strengths for entrepreneurs. A recent article from the Small Business Chronicles states, “cash scarcity is common for small businesses.” Due to capital expenditures, supply chain disruptions, competitive labor costs and more, cash flow in many cases can be lean.  When things get tight, there may be a temptation to withhold paying what is due. Proverbs 11:24 says, “One gives freely, yet grows all ...

Many businesspeople are hesitant to set goals, personal or professional. The reasons for refraining from goal setting are vast. In an article by Forbes magazine about leadership, Williams Craig says, “Leaders have a responsibility to demonstrate the beliefs of the company and reinforce behaviors that reflect those values.”  Leadership is not just about giving directives, it is about exemplifying transferable character and behavior. Everyone has likely met a know-it-all at some time in their work life. A know-it-all is that person who no matter what the subject, they always seem to have an opinion.  They feel they are the final authority on every subject, and they leave no room for debate.  The backlash of being a know-it-all, however, is that by proclaiming you ...

A Society for Human Resource Management survey revealed that 94% of Human Resource professionals believe vacations are important. Many unknowingly, however, undermine the practice of employees taking vacation. Some organizations allow employees to rollover unused vacation days to the following year. When organizations rollover vacation days, only 65% of their employees use the majority of their vacation time. But, for ...

The “tools” I was given for my first job in public accounting included an adding machine, pencils, and a pad of green columnar paper. The only computer I recall was a $1 million albatross at a client’s office that no one could figure out how to use.  Today, my laptop is about the size of my former adding machine and ...
