Early in my consulting practice, I bid on a consulting project for a mortgage lender named Tom. When I shared about my Biblical approach to consulting, Tom’s eyes went cold and the meeting ended abruptly.
I didn’t get the project. And, I chalked it up to failure on my part.
Two years later, Tom’s brother informed me that Tom instead hired someone who stole $40,000! That experience led Tom on a spiritual journey. My failure became God’s success.
When Moses first urged Pharaoh to release his slaves, Moses felt like a failure when Pharaoh refused. But in Exodus 11:9 the Lord told Moses, “Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you—so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt.”
Obedience to God is success even when first viewed as failure.
