When I launched a faith-based consulting practice, a partner helped me start the business. Six months later he returned to banking, while I carried on alone. Very alone.
We had rented some space in a dreary basement of a bank building. Suddenly, I was isolated, lonely, and making decisions in a vacuum.
As an introvert, I get recharged by quiet, but this was too much. I began looking for Bible studies, networking groups, and I even started a group for CEOs.
In Genesis 2:18, God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
From the beginning, God intended us to have community with others. If you’re feeling isolated, look for a godly friend or friends in which to confide.
