Nehemiah’s vision for rebuilding Jerusalem is only two verses long, but it identifies four elements helpful in casting vision to others. The fourth and final element is “sharing your reason for hope.”
Nehemiah was a newcomer to Jerusalem tackling a project that had been tried multiple times over a period of 93 years unsuccessfully. Nehemiah, however, had great hope because he had seen God answer his prayers in amazing ways.
In Nehemiah 2:18, Nehemiah said, “I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king’s words which he had spoken to me.”
Nehemiah gave the locals hope and they quickly agreed to help. If you’re casting vision for your project, don’t forget to share the reason for your hope.
