At 17 months old, my granddaughter, Addy, has a small vocabulary, but she still communicates effectively. Recently, Addy mischievously smiled and pointed to our Echo device.
She said, “Poppa,” then began dancing to tell me she wanted me to turn on the music. Only one word was spoken, but I clearly knew what she wanted.
In business, sometimes your staff may use few words, but if you are paying attention, they may be speaking volumes. Their body language or demeanor may be saying they are troubled or struggling.
In John 10:14, Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”
To know your team well, don’t overlook the importance of observing their behavior and body language, as well as listening to their words.
