Dan, a budding entrepreneur called me for counsel recently. He asked, “Can you help me apply for, and borrow, all the money I need to start a new business?”
Many entrepreneurs assume that borrowing all of the money they can is the solution to their funding problems. But God usually has a better plan.
In my opinion, Dan needed answers to two different questions. First, “Does God want me to start this business?” Then second, “God, how do you wish to fund this new business?”
Psalm 20:7 teaches, “Sometrustinchariots and someinhorses, but we trustinthename oftheLordour God.”
If you’re starting, or expanding, your business, trust God first, not last. God’s preferred plan will likely save you from the perils of too much debt.
