In the 1990s, Kathy and I joined a Christian healthcare ministry. Eventually they changed their process from sending our dues to those in need, to sending money to corporate. Suspecting foul play, we stopped using their service.
Months later, fraud charges were filed against the organization and CEO.
Recently, the Kansas City Business Journal reported that Medical Cost Sharing, a similar ministry, had its CEO convicted of a $5 million fraud.
With access to millions of dollars, the temptation was likely great to skim money for personal gain.
Jesus said in Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
If you’re surrounded by temptation, pray hard and look for ways to protect yourself against the temptation.
