For about 50 years, King Uzziah was known as a great king. 2 Chronicles 26 says that "the king did what was right in the eyes of God."
With God's help, Uzziah's success was vast. But his success eventually ruined him.
In 2 Chronicles 26:16, we read, "But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense."
Uzziah became prideful. He decided to assume priestly duties. Despite 50 years of faithfulness, the king's life ended in leprosy and isolation from God's judgment.
If you've experienced years of success, you're not immune from pride. Surround yourself with people who will speak truth to you and then listen.
