Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx

In this series we’re discussing the challenge of being a good shepherd. The final challenge is in retaining the people God has called to your team.
Much earlier in my career, I had a person working for me who became verbally abusive and rude to multiple team members. This person added significant value to the organization in other ways, causing me to move slower than I should have.
The workplace environment became toxic, resulting in multiple good people leaving the organization, before I finally addressed the problem appropriately.
In Jeremiah 23:1 we read, “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.”
To retain good people, we need to care for them and address any challenging people and issues promptly.
