Too often organizations who receive a large one-time gift find ruin when they add expenses based on the new gift, hoping to replace the funds in later years. Many businesses also find themselves in trouble when they become overly dependent upon one customer. If that customer goes away, it can destroy a business.
King Solomon talked of the principle of diversification in Ecclesiastes 11:2 when he wrote, “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.”
