In this series, we’re highlighting the enemies of building trust in your business. The final enemy is lack of transparency.

Long ago, I went into a men’s clothing store that had no price tags on any of the clothes. While I was shopping, a man asked the owner of the store, “How much are these pants?” The owner quoted him a price.

After that customer left, another person asked the owner for a price on the same pants. This customer looked more affluent than the first. The owner quoted him a much higher price. I never returned to that store.

Proverbs 14:8 teaches, “The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.”

Being transparent and consistent with your pricing builds trust.
