On his personal Facebook account, Jacob Kersey posted his religious beliefs on marriage. As a Port Wentworth, Georgia, police officer, he was told to remove the post or lose his job.
Ultimately, Jacob was forced to resign. It would have been easier for Jacob to comply but fortunately for all of us, Jacob chose to be courageous.
First Liberty Institute has since demanded that Port Wentworth comply with Jacob’s constitutional right to freedom of speech.
Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Unfortunately, many workplaces are violating free speech rights protected by the constitution. Fortunately, there are still courageous people like Jacob in the workplace.
