Early in the pandemic my friend, Peter, began to realize that needed supplies for his restaurants were becoming hard to get. He began ordering additional supplies and stockpiling them.
The problem, however, kept getting worse. As Peter tried to determine a better solution, he happened to study the story of Joseph in Genesis 41.
After God forewarned Joseph of the upcoming famine, in verse 34, Joseph said, “Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years.”
Peter decided to apply Joseph’s wisdom to his restaurants. He began saving 20% of all ordered supplies for the future. Peter’s decision saved his restaurants from closing.
Don’t overlook the wisdom of the Bible when looking for business solutions.
