In my youth, a popular TV show was “Leave it to Beaver.” One of the characters was Eddie Haskell.
Eddie would do and say what was necessary to please any adults in the moment, but the minute they left he became the conniving Eddie Haskell who did as little as possible to get by.
Colossians 3:22 says, “Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.”
Maybe you know someone in your workplace like Eddie Haskell? That person who puts on a good show for the boss but becomes a slacker when they leave. As a follower of Jesus, make sure Eddie’s example doesn’t describe you.
