According to the History Channel, Pope Gregory III designated November 1st as All Saints Day. This was a time to honor the saints and martyrs of the church.
However, Celtic traditions believed that on October 31st the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. As Rome took over the Celts their traditions began to be incorporated. Eventually All Saints Day became overshadowed by what became known as Halloween.
Ephesians 6:12 teaches, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
There is a spiritual battle. Pray that your efforts to glorify God with your work not be undermined by spiritual forces.
