Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx

In his book, Soul Keeping, John Ortberg writes that we are created with souls that crave to be loved, secure, and significant. Given the time and energy we spend at work, it can be easy to turn to our work to meet those needs. But Ortberg writes that only God can satisfy the needs of our soul.
“My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God,” the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 84:2.
If you feel your work is not fulfilling you, consider what you are asking your work to accomplish. Our work is an opportunity for service, using our talents and experiences to serve God and our neighbors. But only God can satisfy our souls.
