Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Years ago, I worked in an office building with multiple organizations near each other. Ours became a tight-knit community with friendships, barbeques and other fun events throughout the year.
Then, Jane was hired to work at one of the organizations. Jane began sharing with me negative comments she claimed others in the building had said about me, causing my relationships with the others to be strained.
The culture of our community began to change. After Jane’s eventual departure, the community compared notes only to discover that Jane had gossiped and lied about almost everyone, causing many broken relationships.
Proverbs 6 teaches, “There are six things the Lord hates,” including, “a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”
Avoid Gossip. Being a peacemaker is much more fruitful than being a troublemaker!
