Years ago, I served on an advisory board for a national nonprofit. For months, the organization was struggling with challenges that didn’t make sense to the board.

Eventually, the board was informed that the executive director of the firm was resigning due to a pornography addiction. After the revelation surfaced, there was a key leader in that organization that said, “I knew there was sin in our camp. Everything we tried failed. We didn’t have God’s favor.”

In Joshua 7, Achan’s sin impacted the entire community. In verse 12 God said, “I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.”

If your hard work is not bearing any fruit, it may be worth considering that there might be sin in your camp.
