While on vacation, Jaime boarded a plane only to notice that a woman sitting across the aisle looked familiar. She happened to be a client of the financial firm where Jaime worked.
The client was on the way to see her brother who was close to dying from cancer.
Jaime wanted to comfort her with scripture, but was afraid it would “come off” as unprofessional and trite. Nevertheless, as they departed the plane Jaime gave her a handwritten note of comforting bible verses.
A month later the client sent Jaime’s supervisor an email saying the bible verses were not only read by her, but also read to her brother before he passed away. Jaime realized Romans 1:16, “We should not be ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
