When my son was young, I watched Muppet’s Christmas Carol often. In the movie, Scrooge has a remarkable transformation from a greedy miser to a generous employer.
Scrooge’s transformation came in part from being shown his miserly life through a different lens. I believe it also came from his sudden understanding of the value of generosity.
When Scrooge realized that he was alive and given a second chance, he became a recipient of the amazing gift of life!
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Because of the birth and death of Jesus, God has given us the possibility of eternal life, a natural response is to want to be generous to others.
