When I was a new Christian, I struggled with choosing between pleasing friends or pleasing God. A pivotal moment came when my drunken peers at Graduate School of Banking decided their mission was to get me to a strip bar.
The Holy Spirit convicted me to take a stand. I told them, “No,” and locked myself in the restaurant bathroom until they left.
Titus 2 teaches, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives.”
The grace of God gave me courage to do what needed done. God’s grace will teach us to say, “No.” It’s up to us to have the courage to implement it.
