I was angry when a vendor’s invoice was nearly twice what I was expecting. The vendor documented the higher costs, but I objected so strenuously that the group vice president had to intercede. After hearing both sides, she decided we should pay the invoice. Now I was angry with her!
My response was not only unproductive, it was un-Biblical.
“Let everyone be subjfect to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” (Romans 13:1-2)
If you are struggling with authority, remember that our obedience to God carries to those he appoints.
