When Kathy and I were younger, we participated in a Bible study on marriage. One point made in the study was that women desire to be loved, while men desire respect.
Although that may be true, I believe that all people desire respect. A definition of respect is “due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.”
Lack of respect is a growing problem in the workplace. Gallup’s recent survey revealed that only 37% of employees feel respected at work, the lowest level since 2018. Employees desire to be valued.
1 Peter 2:17 says, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”
Everyone is made in the image of God and deserves to be respected.
