Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

My friend, Steve, misses having honest conversations with co-workers, due to our era of political and racial discourse. He believes it has become more difficult to gain understanding of other diverse views when we stop listening as soon as we learn the other person thinks differently.

In a Wall Street Journal article written by radio host, Celeste Headlee, she expresses similar concerns and has some advice for learning about others. Celeste claims, “The purpose of listening is to understand, not to determine whether someone else is right or wrong, an ally or an opponent.”

Proverbs 1:5 teaches, “A wise man will hear and increase in learning, and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel.”

Be willing to listen and gain understanding, even from those with whom you disagree.
