Recently, I had the opportunity to speak to a Fellows program of recent college grads. One question I was asked to address was, “What is something you’ve learned that you wished you would have known in your 20s?”
What struck me was how little I understood the importance of investing time in relationships. As an introvert with a financial background, I have often allowed my to-do list to drive my week.
Over the years, I’ve realized that proactively adding people to my list, helps me to build long-lasting relationships. Ultimately, those people oftentimes help me accomplish my tasks more efficiently.
Galatians 5:14 says, “For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
To do business well, prioritize people over tasks.
