When there is pressure to generate cash, businesses can sometimes grab an expedient solution without enough consideration of long-term implications.
For instance, the pandemic has created great pressure on many businesses to find ways to survive. Borrowing as much money as possible, or taking on an unrelated business service, are both possible solutions, but those solutions can have dramatic long-term unintended consequences.
Proverbs 4:26 teaches, “Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”
When you’re faced with tough decisions, it can be helpful to ponder the vision you have had for your business prior to the crisis. Ask yourself, “What if my new direction is very successful? What if it’s unsuccessful?”
Will you be closer to your vision, or farther away? Make your decision accordingly.
