The Federal Trade Commission wishes to eliminate most noncompete agreements, causing concern in the business community.
If I sell you my business, it would be foolish for you to allow me to start a competing business across the street. A noncompete can be a reasonable solution.
But some companies force employees to sign restrictive noncompetes that jeopardizes their employee’s future livelihoods. There are less stringent ways to protect the interests of the company, without sacrificing an employee’s well-being, that I will discuss in this series.
Colossians 4:1 teaches, “Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.”
When making agreements with employees, employers need to consider what’s fair for the employees, as well as for the organization.
