It was my first day starting work for a national CPA firm. I was anxious and excited for my post-college journey.

That first morning, we had a massive snowstorm, and I had never driven in rush hour traffic. I arrived two hours late.

The audit team I was assigned to had already left. In addition, as the day progressed, I became feverish and weak, yet I persevered.

Finally, at quitting time, I discovered my car wouldn’t start. I discovered that becoming a working adult could be painful.

Romans 5:3 teaches, “We also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.”

Some days are harder than others, but God uses tribulations to help us learn perseverance, and to shape our character.
