Memorial Day is a day to memorialize those who died representing our country in military service. Marking a set day on the calendar each year is a great way to remember the deeds of those who have served us well.

The tradition of remembering and memorializing events dates all the way back to at least the Passover.

In Numbers 9:2, God told Moses on the first anniversary of the Passover, “Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time. Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with all its rules and regulations.”

Memorial Day, and other holidays like it, are important for remembering the legacy we have and to honor God and those who have served us well.
