In its annual State of the Global Workplace, Gallup reported the global percentage of engaged employees fell from 23% to 21% in 2024, nearing the recent low levels of engagement experienced during the pandemic.
Digging deeper, the data revealed that manager engagement drove the decline, falling three points from the prior year. Engagement of managers under age 35 fell by five percent. Individual contributor engagement remained at the same (low) level.
Isaiah 40:30-31 says: “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength…”
Managing today can be tiring, with personnel, administrative, and customer responsibilities. It’s all the more reason why managers – and all workers – need to find their strength in God.
