Almost daily, every business leader is faced with opportunities and decisions that will impact the direction, the employees and the success of the organization.
Aaron, while he was left in charge of the Israelites as Moses went to meet with God on Mt. Sinai, decided to construct false gods at the request of the Israelite people. Why? They had grown tired of waiting for Moses to return.
Exodus 32:21 says, “‘What did these people do to you that you have led them into such great sin?’”
Leadership missteps occur when decisions are made and implemented without vetting them against our strategy, vision, mission and values. Like Aaron, we can sacrifice good decision making at the whims and the desires of others. Let’s commit to vet ideas against the organization’s guardrails.
