In college, my roommate had a new Pontiac Firebird. While I was caresless that semester, my generous roommate let me drive his car any time I needed.
However, I cavalierly started to treat his car like it was my own. One day a friend was visiting and asked if he could drive my roommate’s car to the store. I foolishly let him.
Unfortunately, my roommate saw my wild and unreliable friend driving his car. He ripped me pretty good that day about the fact that he was the owner of the car, not me.
Psalm 24:1 teaches, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.”
Sometimes we can treat our businesses like we are owners, rather than stewards of God’s business.
