Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

For many small businesses, cash flow anxiety can cause them to be very reluctant to make financial commitments. At times, they may even be tempted to break their promises.

The Apostle Paul was concerned that the Corinthian church was about to break their promise. In 2 Corinthians 8, the Corinthians had made a pledge to help other struggling churches.

Due to their own economic circumstances, Corinth began debating whether to honor their original commitment.

In 2 Corinthians 8:11, Paul wrote, “Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.”

If you’ve made a financial commitment and are considering breaking your promise, consider Paul’s plea to the Corinthian church. God expects us to honor our vows.
