This week we’re discussing four insights the Apostle Paul shares in Ephesians 4:29 that can help guard our tongues against gossip in the workplace. The first insight is “Unwholesome Words.”
Sometime ago I had a radio interview with a host unknown to me previously. Afterwards a friend asked how my interview went. I began criticizing the radio host’s style.
God’s Spirit convicted my heart that I had just undermined this radio host’s credibility. My words were unwholesome, and I vowed to guard my tongue in the future.
Proverbs 21:23 teaches, “He who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from troubles.”
Unwholesome words are any words that might hurt others. We should choose words carefully. Stopping workplace gossip begins with us guarding our tongue from unwholesome words.
