Years ago, some colleagues invited me to a conference of a controversial ministry. I prayed fervently that the Holy Spirit would reveal to me what was pleasing to God and what wasn’t.
That night, the keynote speaker prophesied some disturbing proclamations. I felt a grieving from the Holy Spirit and chose to avoid engaging with this ministry.
Years later, this ministry disassociated themselves from that speaker due to years of sin and deception.
2 Timothy 1:14 says, “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”
God gave us the Holy Spirit for lots of good reasons, but one of them is to guard us against evil.
